I’m still recovering from my cortisone shot.
Not being able to use your right hand is more difficult than I imagined.
I can’t even hold my electronic toothbrush with one hand.
Anyway, I keep getting work.
Other than the three manga I received from Company BEI on Tuesday, I just received my copy of Kitchen Princess #10, and I got more work from Company BEI regarding a website.
I don’t know if I could talk about it yet, but I will when I am sure I can.
So I’ll be working on the website and Kitchen Princess simultaneously.
My sister and I accumulated many, many manga over the years.
And now that we both have a little more time, we decided to clean up and get rid of the ones we didn't need.
(We live in a 2-bed, 2-bathroom condo and we're really running out of space).
We got rid of over 300 manga so far.
We still have 200-300 more to get rid of.
I'm trying to make space in the living room (where my home office is) so that I can get an ergonomic desk to match my ergonomic keyboard.
And I'm trying to organize the sample books, video games, and DVDs.
For example, Kagetora ended so I can now box it up and put it in my bedroom (my office storage).
By the way, SoCal is once again burning up.
The fires are not that close to me, but it still smells like BBQ.
I bought Mirror's Edge today.
I'm not playing it...I'm having someone else play it so I can look at it.
People should be careful not to watch someone play for too long...
It makes you sick.
I like the cartoony parts of the game.
Reminds me of Batman the Animated Series.
After getting used to Soul Calibur IV, the main girl's boobs look really small.
The girl looks easy to cosplay as.
All you need is a flat chest, black tank top, red glove thing, red shoes, and a bunch of eyeliner.
Maybe I'll see a bunch of her if I go to Sakura Con next year.
I think she has a manly face. Maybe it's her mouth?
Everywhere I look every blog is talking about Decision 2008.
Since this is a work blog, I didn't really talk about it.
And I have no intention of talking about it.
I only talk about work!
I have a Japanese blog on the social networking site Mixi, and I wrote an entry today.
But it was about work...
Everyone else was talking about the election, the slow-speed (I'm being sarcastic) rail, change, yadda yadda yadda...
Lately my work blog entries have been pretty boring, but that's because I'm slowly working on the novel (while working on other deadlines in between).
My post would be something like,
"I finished 25 pages today. It was the part where Cornelia battles the Guren for the first time."
"I finished 16 pages today. It gave a little background on what Cornelia did in Area 11 before the attack in Narita."
"I finished 23 pages today. It showed a little bit of Ashford Private Academy life."
Is it more boring than "I finished XXXX #3 today. I'm tired." or "XXXX #4 is released today. Please check it out."
Only the readers can tell me that!
I'm hoping to finish the novel in one to two days.
Go go go!
Nothing exciting happened today, other than I prepared my mail-in ballot.
I was too lazy to mail it out yesterday, so I gave authorization to my sister to drop it off.
(I'm also too lazy to drop it off myself on Tuesday. Dude, I'm on two deadlines right now!)
I'm going to carry around my ballot stub to go to Starbucks on Tuesday.
To get free coffee.
I don't drink coffee, but I do drink FREE.
Wow, it's almost Halloween, isn't it?
I totally forget because every time I go to a retail store it's filled with the other holiday stuff.
And my house doesn't really celebrate Halloween...
Kids don't come to my condo because it's a gated condo, which is good because I live in a semi-bad neighborhood.
I thought I'd introduce some projects I worked on that might be good for Halloween.
The first one is coming out tomorrow:
You'll be walking through a building trying to figure out how to get out.
But there are a bunch of booby traps on the way.
"Do you want to stick your hand in the hole?"
"Oh no, there were razor blades in the hole. You're bleeding now."
Okay, I made it sound comical.
It's not like this in the game, but this is how I remember it.
It's scary. I had nightmares about it when I was working on it.
This isn't scary, but it's very Halloween-like, I think.
Something good to read while you wait for kids to come asking for candy.
I only started working on this title from volume 9, but I recommend the whole series.
Some of the arcs are really freaky.
Vampires, werewolves, zombies, mermaids, invisible men, you can get all of it in this series.
I only worked on volume 3.
Which is good, because imagine the nightmares if I had only worked on volume 2.
Lots of gore, which this artist is good at drawing.
A cute, children's literature-ish book that gives a Halloween feel.
Witches, bats, cat-girls, and other weird characters.
I ordered my holiday cards yesterday (already!)
I wanted to order earlier so Costco won't get busy with orders later...although I'm not really sure when people prepare holiday cards.
But because I was early, they will be ready for pick up today (already!)
I ordered a lot of extras (in case I make mistakes) but I might have too much.
So this year I'm sending them to my friends, too.
So my friends who read this blog...please email me your mailing address.
So the holiday season is starting a little early in retail stores this year.
Right now is actually a good time to shop.
So many retail stores are offering good deals!
So I'm shopping a lot this month.
Maybe it's stress from all the work.
So I went to Costco the other day (this is where I get my holiday cards), and saw some cute cards...
I discover that printing photo cards at the photo center is cheaper.
So this year I will be printing photo cards.
Unfortunately I don't have any staff under me, so I can't take a company group photo to use.
And I really don't think people want a holiday card from me with a picture of Satsuki alone.
(If I want to show the "working" me I would have my bangs pinned up, hair tied in a ponytail, wearing a gym t-shirt and flannel pajamas...very ugly).
So I will be using a picture of the cat.
I have over 500 pictures of her so it took a while to choose one.
But I managed to.
Hopefully I can put up a sample when it's ready.
I should get the list ready...perhaps about 80 this year?
I guess the notes from Kaoru Tada's "Itazura na Kiss" are going to be used in the anime to conclude the story.
"Itazura na Kiss" is a story about Kotoko and Irie-kun.
The story went unfinished when Kaoru Tada passed away suddenly with cerebral hemorrhage.
Spoiler alert, drag to read.
The final page was Irie-kun announcing that Kotoko must be pregnant, and the whole family was surprised.
So Tada-sensei's notes revealed that the series was to end when Kotoko had her baby.
The anime will reveal the baby's gender and name.
I haven't been following the anime at all, but maybe I'll watch the last arc.
Random links to some stuff I want.
Hope this gets sent to Santa.
Right now I'm working on three projects simultaneously.
I have two laptops, my Dell and my Blue Dell.
I bought the Blue Dell for "entertainment purposes" but lately I've been working on it too.
(I work on it whenever I want to work sitting on the couch).
So on the Blue Dell I'm working on Sunshine Sketch #3.
Since I don't have anything to do on my Dell during that time, I have Mr. Flower Groom open.
And when I don't feel like sitting at a computer, I read the Code Geass stage 1 novel.
I don't have much work this month (3 deadlines), but I have a lot due in October, so I should try to keep on top of my projects.
Thanks to NBC streaming the tennis matches, I'm up at 4am in the morning watching tennis.
But I feel guilty staying up all night just watching tennis (and I can't do only one thing at a time--I'm a multi-tasker), so I'm working.
I got a lot of work done during Nadal's match: I finished this week's batch of Code Geass R2 website text.
I have one more batch to go.
Although they'll probably give me more later.
I am about halfway done with the Suzaku #1 manga, but I'm going to put that aside while I work on Yozakura Quartet #4.
I worked on Yozakura Quartet #3 so long ago, I forgot all the terms I used.
Thank goodness for my terminology cheat sheet.
I forgot what happened in #3 too.
I remember there's a big fight...so I had to go back and re-read #3 in Japanese.
And when I get bored of Yozakura Quartet, I've been doing a bit here and there for Mr. Flower Bride.
So I have multiple files open on my computer...
(Working on anything Code Geass requires me to have many excel sheets filled with terminology open)
...Two ripped-up manga on my desk...
...and two laptops going because one is for work and the other one is for watching tennis.
It's a busy desk.
Two laptops, two manga, and two cups!

I am currently working on Mr. Flower Bride, a Company YP title.
One of the character's last name is "Uno," so every time the other character calls him, it's "Uno!"
Like the card game.
We have a "One Piece UNO" at our house.
Like other "special packs" it has special rules.
The "Uno Uno no Mi" card doubles the effect of an action card.
For example, if you use it with a "draw 4" card the next player has to draw 8 cards.
The "Shanks" card allows the person holding a player to choose someone to show what cards they have.
But the person chosen can prevent showing all cards if he or she has a 1. Luffy card.
I wish I had more opportunities to play this game, but I don't have that many friends.
